VMworld 2020 will be a completely virtual global event running from September 29 to October 1. This digital event promises to be just as informative and engaging as previous years. AWS recently launched a new version of the AWS Well-Architected Framework, and updates to the AWS Well-Architected Tool. The new changes were made in response to industry trends, as well as feedback from customers and AWS Well-Architected Partners. This post provides a brief overview of what’s new and is intended for AWS Well-Architected Partners, members of the AWS Partner Network (APN) who are new to AWS Well-Architected, or AWS Cloud customers.

To receive the AWS Competency designation, APN Partners must undergo rigorous technical validation and assessment of the security, performance, and reliability of their AWS solutions. To help APN Consulting Partners better understand this process and our validation requirements, we are releasing new versions of the AWS Competency Validation Checklists. The checklists highlighted in this post are for APN Consulting Partners.

To help APN Consulting Partners better understand this process and our validation requirements, we are releasing new versions of the AWS Service Delivery Validation Checklists. These outline for the customer case study and technical criteria needed to achieve the AWS Service Delivery designation.

Oracle customers have common questions about their licensing options when considering deployment to AWS. Oracle customers who do not proactively confirm their options risk spending too much on licensing. Customers may also face an Oracle audit that could expose avoidable license compliance issues. AWS has a variety of options for customers considering deployment of Oracle to AWS. When done properly, customers can significantly optimize their Oracle license costs when deploying to the proper AWS service.
